Suspect Arrested in Burton Ave Shooting

Springfield Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting.

The suspect was arrested at a mobile home park on Cedarbrook Avenue.

The suspect’s name has not been released.

The victim was found with a gunshot wound late Tuesday night in the 1900 block of North Burton Avenue.

He died later at a hospital.

His name has not been released.

Woman’s Jeep Struck By Train at Springfield Crossing

A woman was hospitalized after her Jeep was struck by a train at an unsignalized crossing in south Springfield.

The crash occurred at a location on Catalpa Street lacking lights or warning signals.

The Jeep was dragged 80 feet by the train after being hit.

No word on the condition of the woman.

Springfield Police arrested a man who is a suspect in a fatal shooting in Wichita.

Police arrested 27-year-old Donny Harris on Monday morning in Springfield.

He is now held in Greene County Jail without bond.

The man was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.

Crime scene investigators were still on the scene this morning.

Two years ago, Springfield didn’t have its third homicide until June.

Flights From Springfield to Phoenix Coming In May

American Airlines announced seasonal Saturday-only flights from Springfield-Branson National Airport to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport starting May 23rd, with service continuing through August 1st.

“For more than 50 years, American Airlines has been providing commercial air service to the Ozarks,” said Brian Weiler, director of aviation at SGF.

“We are grateful for the continued investment American Airlines has made in providing the air service needs of Southwest Missouri.” 

This route marks the fifth service offered by American Airlines at SGF, featuring nonstop flights once a week.
