Showers and storms will be settling into the Ozarks over the next several days.

The National Weather Service says a few strong storms are possible north of Highway 54 from Nevada to Osage Beach Tuesday evening into the overnight hours.

Hail up to the size of quarters will be the main risk.

There’s also the potential for severe storms Wednesday evening and night west of Highway 65, and especially west of Interstate 49.

Hail up to the size of golf balls and damaging winds will be the biggest threats, with a low risk for a few tornadoes.

Highway Patrol Searching for Missing Woman

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is searching for a woman missing since August of 2025.

 The Patrol says 38-year-old Amber Marie Drury was last seen at Walmart in Ozark.

She has blonde hair, blue eyes, stands 5′7″ tall, weighs 150 pounds, and the name “Rhyder” tattooed on her neck.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Highway Patrol.

A hiker in Branson sustained serious injuries Saturday prompting a multi-agency rescue response.

The Branson Fire Rescue, alongside local police, ambulance services, and the Department of Conservation, navigated difficult terrain to reach the individual, who was experiencing respiratory distress.

They established a rope system to safely transport the patient to a medical evacuation zone for care at Mercy Lifeline.

The fire rescue advises caution on local trails.

Another Record Setting Weather Day in the Ozarks

It’s another day of record high temps in the Ozarks.

The National Weather Service says we should hit 83 in Springfield Monday afternoon, which would break the record of 82 set back in 1963.

The wind will also be a factor, with gusts up to 30 to 40 miles per hour.

The higher gusts are expected along and west of Highway 65.

One Dead and One Injured in Overnight Shooting in Springfield

One person has died and another is in stable condition at a local hospital following a shooting early Monday morning at the Crosswinds Apartments in Springfield.

Officers were called to the scene off Ingram Mill Road west of Highway 65 around 3:50am Monday. They found two people with significant injuries.

One of those people later died. A third person was found with minor injuries.

A police lieutenant says the two people involved in the shooting knew each other, and there’s no danger to the public.

Police say they’re not looking for any other suspects at this time.
