A man from Springfield has been charged, after being accused of injuring a man with a hatchet late Saturday night May 2nd.
Christopher Salisbury, according to online court records, has been charged with 1st Degree Assault and Armed Criminal Action in Greene County Circuit Court.
At about 11:30pm police responded to a reported assault and found the victim lying on a front porch bleeding from a laceration to the left side of his neck or head.
During the investigation police found a black and silver hatchet with a small amount of blood on it.
Once at the jail, the suspect was questioned where he said he was at the location due to being asked to walk someone there who was afraid of being “jumped”.
