Troopers: Dog Distraction Contributed to Lake of the Ozarks Crash

A boating trip at the Lake of the Ozarks took an unexpected turn Saturday evening when a pontoon boat crashed into a rock bluff in Camden County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 7 p.m.

Investigators say a man from Kansas City was operating the pontoon boat when he became distracted by a dog that was also on board.

The distraction caused the boat to strike a nearby bluff.

Troopers reported the man suffered only minor injuries in the crash.

It’s one of those accidents that probably sounds almost unbelievable at first.
