A Winter Storm Watch has been posted for areas south of I-44 from Friday afternoon through early Sunday morning.
The National Weather Service says periods of moderate to heavy snow are possible in the southern Ozarks, with total accumulations between 4 and 7 inches possible.
The greater amounts are expected to be along the Missouri-Arkansas border.
Amounts are expected to taper off greatly the further north you go.
Some models show a 1 to 4 inch difference in snow totals from the northern to southern parts of the same county.
