The Nixa Police Department has closed Butterfield Drive between Pinhook Drive and Pinewood Lane due to a gas leak caused by a lightning strike early Friday morning.
Nearby homes were evacuated.
They are collaborating with the Nixa Fire Protection District and Spire Gas who are investigating the leak’s source.
The timeline for reopening the area is currently unknown, but updates will be provided on the Nixa Police Department’s Facebook page.
