Woman Charged with Murder of Infant in Baxter County, AR

A woman has been charged with second-degree murder in Baxter County, AR following the death of an infant.

Court records show that Terra Thompson has been charged with second-degree murder, first-degree domestic battery and second-degree domestic battery.

Records state that the baby was brought to the hospital where staff noticed bruising on the right side of their face.

The infant was later taken to Little Rock Children’s Hospital with a brain bleed.

Officers spoke with Thompson at her home, where she admitted to getting upset and slamming the infant, causing the baby to hit the back of their head on the playpen.

She also said that she slapped the infant as well, waited around 10 to 15 minutes, and then attempted to put makeup on the baby’s face to cover up the bruises.

The coroner’s office in Pulaski County later confirmed that the baby had died from their injuries.

Thompson is currently being held in the Baxter County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
