Springfield Police have identified the man found in a creek on the west side of the city Sunday.
Police say 38 year old Joseph Sparks was reported missing on January 25th.
Sparks suffered from mental illness.
His body was discovered in a creek near Mount Vernon and West Bypass by a passerby.
