Springfield Police have shifted their investigation from assault to homicide in an incident that occurred January 30th.
The assault took place around 1:30 a.m. that morning in the parking lot of the Rumors Cabaret on Glenstone Avenue. When authorities approached the nightclub, they found a man on the ground with life-threatening injuries.
Jeffrey Brent, 37, was identified as the victim. On February 20 the Springfield man died from his injuries.
Police reported they do have a suspect in the case, but that no arrest has been made at this time.
