The annual Missouri Cherry Blossom Festival began Thursday in Marshfield. It will run from April 23rd to Sunday, April 26th with dozens of events held to talk about history, most of them being free to attend. Festival Chairman Nicholas Inman said, “The best way to describe our festival is it’s like putting history in a blender and it explodes for several days.” Inman says attendees will see everything from panels of war veterans to presidential descendants to pop culture stars from classic TV shows and movies. The festival will also celebrate the Route 66 centennial and America’s 250th birthday with a panel of relatives to the founding fathers and the dedication of a tour stop near the Marshfield Square.
