Possible Storms Wednesday Night

There could be a chance for storms Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

The National Weather Service says there could be scattered showers and storms.

Some of these storms could produce penny to golf ball sized hail.

There is chance for some of these storms to be west of Highway 65 with quarter size hail and a damaging winds.

Chadwick Flyer Bridge Opens

The Chadwick Flyer Bridge in Ozark has opened, providing a pedestrian overpass over U.S. 65 between Route CC and Highway 14.

It connects to the Chadwick Flyer Trail, which extends 12 miles between Ozark and Springfield.

Temporary safety measures, including fencing approved by MoDOT engineers, are in place until final elements, such as angled panels and permanent railing, are completed in the coming weeks.

Rapid Roberts Removes Gaming Machines

Less than two weeks after Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway’s announcement of criminal and civil charges concerning Video Lottery Terminals, the convenience store chain, Rapid Roberts, has confirmed, to OzarkFirst news, the removal of these gaming machines from their locations.

A spokesperson could not specify the number of machines removed but clarified that they were not present at every store.

Two More Suspects Arrested in March Homicide

Two additional suspects were arrested in connection with the death of a 15-year-old boy on West Maplewood Street in March.

Members of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department apprehended the suspects on March 31 in Webb City.

The identity of the suspects has not been disclosed.

Another suspect, 18-year-old Praize King was previously arrested and charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

He remains in the Greene County Jail without bond.

Crash on I-44 east of Strafford Shuts Down Traffic

A crash involving a tractor trailer and two other vehicles shut down I-44 east of Strafford during part of the morning commute Wednesday.

It happened around two miles east of Strafford at the 91 mile marker.

The interstate was reopened around 8:30am.

There’s no word yet on the extent of any injuries or what caused the wreck.
