Route 66 Festival Announces Lineup

Organizers of the Route 66 Festival announced the 2026 lineup for the event on August 7-8, separate from the National Route 66 Centennial Kickoff.

There will be a classic car cruise-in on Friday and Saturday nights.

Notable appearances include custom car designer Dave Kindig and free concerts starting Friday afternoon with performances by various artists, concluding Saturday with Southern Bandits, Molly Healey, Dawson Hollow, The Chronicles, and Sixwire with guest Al Paris, formerly of Kool & the Gang.

Additionally, Branson entertainment will be featured at the Chevy Dealers of the Ozarks Stage.

Large Hail and Damaging Wind Potential in the Ozarks Wednesday

Showers and thunderstorms moved into the Ozarks Wednesday morning, dumping dime to nickel, even up to quarter size hail, along with heavy rain.

We have the potential for some of the storms to be strong to severe through Wednesday evening.

The National Weather Service says large hail and damaging wind gusts are the biggest threats, with excessive rainfall and localized flooding possible along and southeast of I-44.

The better threat for severe storms is along and south of I-4.4.

We’ll keep you up to date with any severe weather warnings on 93-3 and AM 560 KWTO.

Officer-Involved Shooting in Dade County

Authorities are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Dadeville.

Dade County Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious person near Dadeville High School.

The suspect had an outstanding warrant from Greene County and was confirmed to be armed and dangerous.

After refusing commands to provide identification to deputies, he allegedly pointed what appeared to be a handgun at them, prompting deputies to fire.

The weapon was later identified as a non-functional replica.

The suspect is in stable condition, and no deputies were injured.

The investigation is being conducted by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Critical Incident Team.

Nolan Houston faces charges of felony unlawful use of a weapon and misdemeanor DWI.

Springfield Police say the incident occurred on South Fremont Tuesday afternoon, following several hours of drinking and an argument.

Houston is currently in Greene County Jail.

MO Job Center Temporary Location In Midtown Library

The Missouri Job Center in Springfield will conduct in-person office hours starting Wednesday at the Midtown Carnegie Branch Library on Central Street from 9 AM to 4 PM.

This is to assist the public with job applications, training program enrollment, case manager meetings, and unemployment benefits while the main campus is closed for repairs.

Repairs will continue at the main campus due to Monday’s water damage.
