Zimmer-Springfield Hosts CEO Roundtable

Eight CEO’s, small business owners, and community leaders gathered at Zimmer-Springfield on Thursday to talk about issues affecting the local and regional business community.

Those issues ranged from economic trends, level of optimism in our local economy, crime, and getting our future leaders ready to enter the workforce.

One of the issues discussed was Missouri’s new minimum wage of $15.00 per hour and how some employers are opting to hire more experienced adult workers as a result of the wage increase.

Our CEO’s also talked about housing, public infrastructure, and how we can make sure we’re in a position to lure new business and industry to southwest Missouri.

Thanks to the following business and community leaders for being a part of Thursday’s CEO Roundtable, our 17th at Zimmer-Springfield:

Jeff Frederick—President of Drury University

Jeff Seifried—Co-owner of Blackwells Fine Men’s Clothiers and Mother’s Brewing Company

Pamela Yancey—President and CEO of Branson-Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce

Chelsey Bode—Owner of Pearson-Kelly Technology
