The Springfield Police Department’s 2025 crime report shows an overall crime decrease of 4.7% from 2024.
Crimes against property decreased by 8.3%.
Although crimes against people saw a slight increase, the report highlights effective policing strategies and areas for community improvement, according to Police Chief Paul Williams.
The report continues to utilize the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) providing a detailed view of crime trends.
