Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks Founder Mary Beth O’Reilly Has Died at 83

A champion for women’s health and an ardent voice for breast cancer patients, Mary Beth O’Reilly, has died at the age of 83.

O’Reilly, who founded Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks, passed away peacefully at her home in Florida on Saturday, with her family by her side.

A news release from BCFO says Mary Beth’s husband, Charlie O’Reilly, and sons and daughters in law, Pat and Shannon O’Reilly, Tim and Brooke O’Reilly, and Ryan and Brandi O’Reilly, issued the following statement upon her passing: “The family of Mary Beth O’Reilly is deeply saddened to share the news of her passing. Mary Beth was a devoted wife, mother and friend whose kindness, strength and compassion touched the lives of so many people. She was the heart of our family–a source of unwavering love, encouragement, and guidance throughout our lives. The loss we feel is profound and deeply personal. She has left a lasting impression on all of us, including her extended family and nine grandchildren.”

Back in 1995, O’Reilly faced a Stage 4 breast cancer diagnosis with courage and determination and turned her fight into a mission to help other families.

In 2000, O’Reilly founded the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to BCFO.

Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
