A second person is in jail after an officer-involved shooting near Ava Wednesday night.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Department says 33-year-old Matthias Penn allegedly told the Sheriff’s Office, he was an E-M-T and needed to provide first aid to suspect Edward Bowman.
He was warned not to approach the scene because of ongoing gunfire, but he showed up anyway.
Ava Police officers told Penn to leave but he refused and was taken into custody for resisting arrest and interfering with an arrest.
