By utilizing the free NaviLens app, users can receive audio information by pointing their smartphones at these codes.

The technology has been previously been applied in various locations including Springfield.

Trial For Former Benton County Treasurer Scheduled

A jury trial for former Benton County Treasurer Richard Renno, accused of child enticement and sexual misconduct, is scheduled for November in Polk County due to a venue change.

Renno resigned in July 2025 following his arrest for allegedly communicating with a 14-year-old boy via Grindr.

A pre-trial conference is set for August in Polk County Court.

Dickerson Park Zoo Lioness Dies

The Dickerson Park Zoo announced the death of a 19-year-old lioness Shetani Tuesday due to chronic kidney disease and cognitive dysfunction.

These health issues impacted her personality and overall well-being, so she was humanely euthanized.

Shetani was born in November 2006, at the Pueblo Zoo in Colorado and arrived at Dickerson Park Zoo in March 2008.

The suit claims MSHSAA discriminates based on race and sex by denying a nominee’s eligibility for a leadership role due to their race and gender.

This action follows a whistleblower complaint, reported by Missouri State Auditor Scott Fitzpatrick, highlighting the notification sent to the individual regarding their ineligibility.

Voters in the town of Ash Grove say yes to a bond issue on Tuesday, with the measure getting 78 percent approval at the polls.

The money will be used for water and sewer system upgrades and expansion.

The city says these improvements will be funded partially through a state revolving fund grant, while the remaining costs will result in an average monthly increase of $9.00 to $15.50 for residents.
