City Manager David Cameron will host a public listening session on Tuesday, Jan. 6 to discuss a proposed convention and events center and gather feedback from the community.
The session will include a presentation of survey results and aims to encourage input from residents, business leaders, and officials.
Cameron expressed a desire to hear all perspectives regarding the previous proposal, which was rejected by voters in November 2025.
The project, estimated to cost around $175 million, seeks to renovate the underperforming Expo Center into a viable convention space, including a ballroom and amenities.
Funding includes anticipated contributions of $30 million each from state and local sales tax revenues.
