Keep the umbrella handy Friday as we’re expecting pop-up showers and thunderstorms in the Ozarks in the afternoon and evening.
The National Weather Service says expect brief, heavy downpours, isolated 40 to 50 mile per hour wind gusts, and lightning.
More widespread rain chances will come late this weekend into early next week with more lightning and heavy downpours.
Severe weather is not expected.
The heat will continue, with daytime highs in the upper 80’s to low 90’s and heat index readings up to 90 to 100.
