State Auditor Scott Fitzpatrick’s office has released the findings of an audit of the Stone County Collector’s Office.
The audit was requested by Stone County Collector Anna Burk.
The report gives the office a “poor” rating.
The report says a former employee failed to deposit over $19,000 in county funds.
The audit shows that $13,862 is still missing.
