Mayor McClure & 3 Other MO Mayors Want Gov. Kehoe to Address Youth Gun Violence

Springfield Mayor Ken McClure and three other mayors of major Missouri cities have written a letter to in-coming Governor Mike Kehoe asking him to address gun violence among teenagers.

Mayor McClure’s letter was co-signed by St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones, Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas, and Columbia Mayor Barbara Buffaloe.

The mayors advocated for Governor-elect Kehoe to change state laws to align with federal laws that prohibit minors from possessing handguns.

They also asked for an improved system to report weapons-related incidents in schools and create a public database for to inform parents about youth gun violence.
