If you have outdoor plans Thursday evening, remain weather aware!
The National Weather Service says the first round of storms moving through Thursday morning will not be severe.
The best potential for severe storms will occur late Thursday afternoon and evening, with the main threats being large hail, damaging wind gusts and brief heavy downpours.
We’ll keep you up to date with any watches or warnings issued by the National Weather Service on 93-3 and A-M 560 KWTO.
In addition to potentially dangerous storms, the excessive heat will be dangerous, especially to vulnerable populations, such as the elderly.
A Heat Advisory goes from 12pm-9pm Thursday for much of southwest Missouri. Heat indices of 100 to 105 are possible across the area.
Drink plenty of water, take frequent breaks in the shade and get into an air-conditioned room as much as possible.
