Man Accused Of Stealing From ATMs Pleads Guilty

Matthew Bressman and Brandie Milner were arrested in the Fall of last year after being caught on camera stealing from an ATM.

The two used a method called “cash trapping” where the cash dispenser door is glued shut, causing people who tried to get money from the ATM legally assume the machine was broken and leave, leaving the money available for the thieves to steal it.

Matthew Bressman entered a guilty plea, and is sentenced to 6 years in prison.

Motorcyclist Sentenced In Fatal Pedestrian Hit & Run Crash

A man who struck and killed a pedestrian with a motorcycle in a hit-and-run crash has been sentenced.

56-year-old Rodney Shires of Springfield has been sentenced to four years in prison but will receive credit for time already spent in custody.

Springfield Police say Shires struck 59-year-old Sandra Brown as she was crossing Fremont Avenue last year.

Shires left the scene.

Shires did not have a valid Missouri driver’s license and his Arkansas license was suspended.

Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Searching for Man Accused of Grabbing a Woman

Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office are asking for the public’s help in locating a man who allegedly grabbed and threatened a woman at an area cemetery.

The victim told investigators that the man approached her Tuesday at the Ava Cemetery and asked for money.

Reports say she told the man to get a job, at which point he got angry and grabbed her.

She was able to get away from the man and escape in her car before things could escalate further.

The victim described the man as a white male, 5’10” and roughly 30-years-old, with reddish-brown hair and a goatee.

Widespread Rain With Scattered Thunderstorms in the Ozarks

Widespread rain showers will occur in the Ozarks Thursday and Friday, with scattered thunderstorms also possible.

The National Weather Service says those storms have the potential to produce lightning, heavy downpours, isolated quarter-sized hail and winds up to 60 miles per hour.

There will be periodic breaks in the rain before it comes to an end by early Saturday morning, and most of the area will get one to two inches, with localized amounts of two to three inches.

We’ll have any severe weather watches or warnings on 93-3 and A-M 560 KWTO.

Springfield Man Sentenced For Trafficking Meth From Home

 A man has been sentenced in federal court for using his residence to traffic drugs and possession of firearms.

A judge sentenced 51-year-old Anthony Brandon of Springfield to 18 years in federal prison without parole.

In May of 2019, Springfield Police executed a search warrant and found several firearms and more than 75 grams of methamphetamine in a couch at Brandon’s residence.

Brandon told investigators he was storing the meth for his connection and would be receiving meth as payment for his help.

Brandon was sentenced as a career offender because of prior convictions.

Crash Closes One Lane of Chestnut Expressway

A crash blocked traffic on Chestnut Expressway for about an hour.

The crash happened at the intersection of Chestnut Expressway and Prince Lane.

Springfield Police say a southbound vehicle ran a red light and t-boned an S-U-V which rolled over on its top in the middle of the intersection.

Police say nobody was injured in the crash.

Man from Springfield Arrested, Charged Following Hostage Situation

A man from Springfield is facing multiple charges for allegedly holding another man hostage for over an hour and beating him.

Investigators say Dinzel Coble had broken into a home near Sunshine and Holland at around 10:00 p.m. the night of February 24.

Coble was reported as the uncle of the victim’s estranged wife.

The victim told authorities that he and two others held him against his will for over an hour, hitting him “…at least 200 times”.

At this time, only Coble has been identified publicly as a suspect. He is charged with burglary, kidnapping, two counts of assault, and armed criminal action.

Springfield Police say the victim suffered “serious head and neck injuries” as well as numerous cuts and severe bruising.

Shooting in Camdenton; One Injured, Another in Custody

Camdenton Police have a suspect in custody while another person is hospitalized following a late night shooting.

Investigators say the incident occurred Monday night at around 7:00 p.m. along Lakeview Drive near Highway 54.

The victim, who’s identity has not been released, was rushed to an area hospital with injuries. Doctor’s say the victim is in stable condition.

The shooting suspect was arrested Tuesday morning. Their identity has not been released at this time.

Missing 11-Year-Old Boy from Springfield Found Safe

An 11-year-old boy in Springfield is back home after going missing for the second time this year.

Authorities say Tydus Vang left the backyard of his family home near Graystone Court off of Price Street Monday morning around 9:30 a.m.

A similar incident occurred in January, as Vang went missing for about a day before he was found.

An endangered person advisory was announced at around 9:00 p.m. Monday night, and he was then located.

Exactly what time Vang was found, and where, have not been released.
