Douglas County Prosecutors Charging Man from Ava with Possession of Child Porn

A man from Ava is facing charges of possession of child pornography after four of his properties were searched by investigators.

Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies say Steven Konert was in possession of a flash drive that had over 11,000 images and videos of children that were considered “sexual” in nature.

The USB drive was found in a home that Konert was recently evicted from.

While conducting search warrants on three other properties, investigators found several different devices that had child porn on them, totaling over 100,000 photos and videos of lude materials.

Officials classified the new images as “age-sensitive” due to an inability to determine if those pictured are of legal age or not.

Konert is already facing charges, but investigators are still looking through the images recovered, and say federal charges could be filed soon.
