A woman from Springfield is being held in the Greene County Jail on numerous charges, including assaulting a police officer.
Investigators say 24-year-old Destiny Jenkins was involved in a disturbance with another person that escalated to an assault Sunday morning along West Olive.
When officers arrived, they attempted to break-up the assault. They say that’s when Jenkins became violent with police, resisting arresting and assaulting officers as well.
She has been charged with:
- Two counts of third-degree assault of a special victim
- Fourth-degree domestic assault
- Property damage
- Resisting arrest
Jenkins is being held on a $25,000 bond and has a hearing scheduled for December 1.
