A teenager from Springfield is dead after a car crash along I-44 that ejected them from the vehicle.
Highway Patrol troopers say a Ford Escape was driving at around 3am Sunday morning when the driver went off the road and hit an embankment.
The car flipped over, throwing 18-year-old Madison Bell from the car and onto the highway.
Investigators say shortly after, another car ran over Bell and drove away.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Escape was taken to an area hospital. The severity of her injuries have not been released.
