Authorities in Springfield are investigating the cause of a fire that damaged a vacant house in the city.
Crews were called to the scene at around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Walnut and Forest with the house in flames.
Firefighters say no one was inside the home at the time of the fire, and the flames were quickly put out.
No injuries were reported. Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire, but say it may have started in the back of the house.
