One man is dead and a suspect is being sought following a shooting late Thursday night in the 3400 block of south Virginia Avenue in Springfield.
Police received a call of shots fired around 11:00 p.m. and responded to the scene, where they found a man who had been shot.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police have spoken to witnesses to get information on a suspect.
No arrest has been made, but authorities don’t believe there’s a threat to the community.
