The name of a man from Springfield who drove through an area home Monday night has been released.
Prosecutors have charged Shelby Shaffer with resisting arrest, tampering with a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident.
Investigators say Shaffer evaded deputies with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office after they attempted a traffic stop, leading to a chase that ended with the crash.
He then tried to flee on foot, but was subdued by a K9 unit.
No one was injured during the pursuit, and everyone inside the home was evacuated safely.
The crash did an estimated $10,000 worth of damaged to the house.
Deputies believe Shaffer drove off due to outstanding warrants against him.
