The El Dorado Springs School Board has voted against going to a four day
school week for the second time. Superintendent Heath Oates says district
officials have done extensive research on five day versus four day weeks, and
studies show mixed outcomes for students. Several teachers in the district
favor a four day week as a way of retaining teachers, but oates says the
teachers have not made a compelling case for a four day week.
