Springfield Police Searching for Suspected Car Thief

Springfield Police are asking for the public’s help in the search for a wanted man suspect of stealing a car.

42-year-old Joshua Parker is wanted by authorities for car theft. He is also wanted for drug related charges in Greene County.

Parker is described as 5’6″ and 160 pounds with blue eyes and balding hair. He has numerous tattoos, including a “J4K” on front of his neck, the names “Brady” and “Jazmyn” on either side of his neck with wings and a tattoo of the grim reaper on his left arm.

Charges Filed in Shooting Near Springfield Hells Angels Motorcycle Club

After more than two months of investigating, prosecutors have filed charges against a suspect in a shooting incident that took place near the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club in Springfield.

Court documents say the shooting occurred on April 27 at the club on West Avenue. Police were called to the scene after witnesses heard multiple gunshots.

When they arrived, they found a victim suffering from gunshot wounds to the groin and stomach. Witnesses later told police they saw a Chevy Camaro fleeing the scene shortly after the shots were fired.

The extensive investigation yielded results this week, as prosecutors filed charges against Ely Oakley for assault and armed criminal action.

According to prosecutors, Oakley has a long history of violent crime.

Police Arrest Man from Springfield in Break-In, Hostage Situation

Greene County Deputies arrested a man Tuesday for breaking into what they believed was a vacant home. When they arrived, the situation was more serious.

Authorities were called to the 4000 block of East Kearney near North Eastgate Avenue for a reported trespassing. When they arrived, they found John Yaggy, who had barricaded himself inside the home.

While deputies originally thought the house was vacant, they later learned that the occupant of the home was still inside. As authorities attempted to enter the home, they were able to get the woman out of the house safely.

Once inside the home, Yaggy began to get combative with law enforcement and had to be restrained by the use of a K9 unit.

Yaggy has been charged with first-degree kidnapping, first-degree burglary, third-degree assault, fourth-degree assault and resisting arrest.

Fake Name with Arrest Warrants Given During Traffic Stop

During a traffic stop on Highway 54 near Cassidy Road Monday night, a woman gave a fake name to a Cole County Deputy.

Mindy Williams gave a false name that had warrants assigned to it while being pulled over. Williams decided to run from her car but was caught with the help of the department K-9.

Shots Fired in Lake Ozark Ends in Arrest

Police have arrested two people in Lake Ozark for firing shots at the Bagnell Dam Strip.

Reports say the two suspects were at a local establishment in the Lake Ozark area Monday night when they were asked to leave. That’s when witnesses say the two pulled out guns and started firing shots into the air as they left.

After investigating, Camden County deputies tracked the suspects to an apartment on Horseshoe Bend Road. A search of the apartment ended with arrests after police found a 9mm handgun believed to have been used in the shooting.
