Man from Republic Sentenced for Leading Authorities on High-Speed Chase

A man from Republic has been sentenced in the case against him for leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase that ended in Springfield.

Health Yarger was sentenced to 14 years in prison this week for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

Yarger was pulled over by a Christian County deputy in December of 2020 when he evaded the deputy and led authorities on a high-speed chase.

Reports say police used stop sticks to try and stop him, and even popped two tires, but he continued to evade officers, reaching speeds of up to 100 miles per hour along Highway 160.

Court records say he nearly hit multiple cars along the roadway.

Authorities were finally able to stop Yarger in Springfield at the corner of Campbell and Primrose. He attempted to flee on foot, but was apprehended after a short chase.

When police searched Yarger’s vehicle, they found over 240 grams of meth. They also found 12 grams of meth on his person.
