Stray Bullet Hits Person Sleeping in Bed at North Springfield Home

One person is in the hospital after being hit in the leg by a stray bullet that hit a person sleeping inside of a home during a drive-by shooting.

Springfield Police Lieutenant Mark Foos says the victim’s injury is non life threatening.

Foos says witnesses told police they saw three suspects leaving the scene at Frisco and Division.

Police found shell casings at the scene and later found an abandoned vehicle connected to the shooting at Calhoun and Washington.

No suspects have been arrested.
