A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for all of the Ozarks from midnight Tuesday night through Thursday evening.
The National Weather Service says heavy mixed winter precipitation is expected, with freezing rain and sleet eventually changing over to snow.
Forecasters say 5 to 8 inches of snow is expected in the Springfield area through Thursday, with heavier amounts of 8 to 11 inches around the Lake of the Ozarks and 10 to 14 inches around the Columbia-Jefferson City areas.
Ice amounts from a thin glaze to a quarter of an inch are possible, with the highest potential of freezing rain along and south of I-44.
There’s also a chance of accumulating sleet along the I-44 corridor.
Travel disruptions are expected statewide.
