58-year-old Sheila Renee Phillips is now facing first-degree murder charges in the death of 59-year-old Billy Mack Walker.
Stone County officials have reported that Phillips shot Walker at a home in Galena, then requested the help of Gerald Keith Hoffman to help her dispose of the body.
Both Hoffman and Phillips were initially charged with federal tampering of physical evidence, but Phillips charge was amended to first-degree murder.
Hoffman has claimed in a statement that Phillips had shot Walker. They are being held in the Stone County Jail without bond.
