CoxHealth CEO Predicts Increase In COVID-19 Hospitalizations in Springfield Next Week

The CEO of CoxHealth says the number of COVID-19 hospitalizations for the system has been steady for the last two weeks, with 58 as of Monday.

But Steve Edwards has tweeted the forecast for next week is projecting an average number of 81 to 92 patients.

He says it’s because the Springfield-Greene County Health Department has seen a doubling of positive COVID-19 tests compared to two weeks ago.

He says the Delta variant is still growing, with Omicron not yet being a factor.
