State health experts are warning Missourians to stop trying to prevent and treat COVID-19 with a medicine for horses and cows.
The Missouri Poison Control Center say they have had 39 reported cases of people suffering bad side effects from taking the over-the-counter version of Ivermectin sold in farm supply stores.
They belief there are more unreported cases of poisoning from people taking Ivermectin.
Mercy, Cox Health and the Springfield-Greene County Health Department, as well as local farm supply stores, are warning people not to use Ivermectin as a preventative for COVID-19.
