Springfield-based Convoy of Hope has responded to Louisiana to distribute food and supplies to the victims of Hurricane Ida.
Ida made landfall Sunday along the Louisiana coast as a Category 4 storm.
Convoy of Hope’s fleet has already deployed to northern Louisiana and will begin helping the hardest hit areas as soon as it is safe to do so.
“Convoy of Hope’s Disaster Services team prepared supplies and equipment to deploy ahead of the storm to help those affected as quickly as possible,” said Stacy Lamb, Senior Director of Convoy’s U.S. Disaster Services team.
The storm made landfall on the 16th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, which was one of the costliest storms in U.S. history.
In the days to come, Convoy will continue to offer relief to survivors of Hurricane Ida. Visit convoyofhope.org/convoypress (password “coh”) to view and download media packages.
