A man from Springfield will spend years in prison after pleading guilty to child pornography charges.
Investigators say 41-year-old Shaun Walker walked into a secure area of the U.S. Department of Energy in Kansas City, MO in November of 2021.
He contacted security to have the phone checked after the violation, at which time they found nearly two dozen images of a five-year-old girl.
They later found dozens of other photos and images of underage girls performing sexual acts.
Walker was employed by Honeywell Federal Manufacturing and Technology, a company contracted by the Nuclear National Security Administration.
He pleaded guilty to charges of attempting to distribute child pornography over the internet. The sentence carries up to 20 years in prison.
