Howell County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating after a search for a wanted suspect led to explosive devices being found.
Around 1 a.m. Sunday morning, deputies came across a suspicious vehicle during their search for a wanted person. The vehicle was occupied, and one of the passengers did have an active arrest warrent.
While the deputies were confirming the warrents, they witnessed an object being thrown from the window of the vehicle. Upon investigation, they found it to be a home made explosive device. After searching the vehicle, they found a second device, as well as a controlled substance.
The Jefferson City Bomb Squad was called in to safely handle the explosives.
