A number of folks in the central part of Springfield lost electricity Friday morning after an equipment malfunction.
City Utilities Spokesman Joel Alexander says the outage was due to a failure of a lightning arrestor.
It caused a big area around Glenstone and Division, around Drury University and Ozarks Technical College, and the Glenstone and Walnut area to go dark.
Power was restored to those areas after 9 a.m.
