Overnight Storms Knock Out Power to Parts of Springfield Metro Area

Storms that moved through the Springfield area early Wednesday morning knocked out power to around 300 Springfield City Utilities customers.

Crews had to repair power poles damaged by the storms that moved through around 1:30 a.m.

C-U repaired two broken poles after a tree fell on lines on east Berkeley south of Mercy Hospital in Springfield

Damage is also being reported in the area of Cherry and Oak Grove on the city’s east side.

Electricity was restored to most customers by 6:00 a.m. Wednesday.
