It’s Round 2 of the battle between the city of Springfield and Hotel of Terror Owner Sterling Mathis.
Last week, the city announced its intentions for the second time to place the property on Main Street in eminent domain status after negotiations to buy the place failed.
The city wants to purchase the property to repair and lengthen the Main Avenue bridge.
But Mathis’ attorney is asking the city to halt the eminent domain process.
Mathis has said he’s okay with selling, but his asking price of $3.5 million was not agreed to.
