Police say a student at the Nixa School District’s SCORE building is in custody after bringing a gun and a box of ammo to class.
The unloaded gun was found in the student’s backpack.
School leaders say the student did not plan to use the weapon on campus, and the district urged parents, staff and community members to work together to provide a safe environment for children.
