Missouri Sports Betting Arriving Slower Than Expected

Sports betting won’t be available in Missouri any time soon.

The Missouri Gaming Commission had hoped to start sports betting on June 30th, but Secretary of State Denny Hoskins said the commission’s rules for issuing emergency gaming licenses didn’t meet the proper criteria.

Gaming Commission Chairman Jan Zimmerman says that means the rules won’t go into effect until August 30th, and even then sports betting won’t begin immediately.
