Road crews continue to work around the clock to plow snow from major highways to secondary roads, but the bitterly cold temps will prevent much of a warmup until Wednesday, when we get into the mid 30’s.
The MoDOT Traveler Information Map shows most highways in southwest Missouri are either covered or partly covered with snow.
Major highways in the Springfield area, such as I-44, Highway 65 and James River Freeway, are mostly clear of snow, but use caution on overpasses, where there is still some snow pack.
Most secondary and neighborhood roads are still snow covered.
