The Springfield Public Schools Board of Education made a unanimous decision to extend Superintendent Dr. Grenita Lathan’s contract for one year, through the 2028-2029 school year, following her annual evaluation.
This marks Lathan’s fifth renewal during her tenure.
The district’s performance has continuously improved over the past three years, as indicated by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s 2024-2025 Annual Performance Report.
