The Missouri Supreme Court has denied the appeal of Craig Wood, who was sentenced to death for the kidnapping, rape, and murder of 10-year-old Hailey Owens in 2014.
The ruling was released on Tuesday.
A judge handed down the sentence in 2018 after a jury was unable to reach a unanimous decision on Wood’s punishment.
A Greene County judge previously denied an attempt to overturn the death sentence in 2024.
