Nixa and Logan-Rogersville Win Titles at 80th Annual Greenwood Blue and Gold Tournament

The number one seeds prevail at the 80th Annual Greenwood Blue and Gold Tournament at Great Southern Bank Arena in Springfield, as the top seeded Logan Rogersville Wildcats capture the Blue Division title Tuesday night and the Nixa Eagles win the Gold.

For the Nixa Eagles, it’s their 13th Greenwood Blue and Gold Tournament championship, holding off the Hartville Eagles 57-50 in the Gold Division finals.

Brock Blansit’s Eagles trailed 16-10 after one quarter, but knotted the game 28-28 going into the locker room at halftime.

Nixa took a 41-37 lead after three quarters, and held off Hartville’s late charge to pull within one title of the Kickapoo Chiefs’ all time Blue and Gold record of 14 championships.

Adam McKnight led a balanced scoring attack for Nixa with 14 points, followed by Jaylon Liddell and Ty Kellis with 13 points each.

Mason Cogdill led Hartville in scoring with 17 points.

The Logan-Rogersville Wildcats, who have more top four finishes and more overall wins than any team in Blue and Gold history, went ahead 20-10 after one quarter and never looked back, defeating the second seeded Willard Tigers 60-43 in the Blue Division championship game.

The Wildcats held a 34-14 lead at the half and 46-31 after three quarters.

L-R gets a game high 23 points from Titus Moore, with Chase Branham adding 18.

Colbee Mowell and Nahmy Kelley score 13 points each to lead Willard.

Gold Division 3rd Place Game (Great Southern Bank Arena):

Final: (5) Branson 77, West Plains 45 (After leading 16-12 at the half. the Pirates increased their lead to 10 at halftime, and 30+ late in the game. Griffin Mehrhoff’s 20 points led the Pirates, with Brody Blades scoring 21

Blue Division 3rd Place Game (Great Southern Bank Arena):

Final: (4) Glendale 66, (3) Republic 65 (Glendale’s Sylijah Davis hit 3 free throws with 2.8 seconds left in regulation to give the Falcons the win. Joelle Rover scored 28 points to lead Glendale, while A.J. Uhl’s 21 points were tops for the Tigers).

Gold Division Championship Game (Great Southern Bank Arena):

Final: (1) Nixa 57, (2) Hartville 50 (Adam McKnight led 4 Nixa players in double figure scoring with 14 points).

Blue Division Championship Game (Great Southern Bank Arena):

Final: (1) Logan-Rogersville 60, (2) Willard 43 (The Wildcats win their first Blue and Gold championship since 2018 and their eighth overall).

Gold Division Consolation Final (Hammons Student Center):

Final: (7) Springfield Parkview 65, Willow Springs 43

Blue Division Consolation Final (Hammons Student Center):

Final: Springfield Catholic 73, Sparta 53
