From record highs in the 70’s to below zero wind chills, winter has made a return for the beginning of the week.
The National Weather Service says the temps got down to 14 degrees in Springfield Monday morning, with the wind chill down to -1.
Another cold night is ahead Monday night into Tuesday morning, with wind chills in the single digits to teens.
To avoid frostbite and hypothermia, limit your time outdoors and cover all exposed skin.
High temps will be back to around 50 degrees for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
